Residence permits expiring between 31 January 2020 and 31 July 2021 will remain valid until the later date, as well as the deadlines for conversions, travel documents and the validity of nulla osta. Thus, residence permits that have expired or are going to expire after 31 January 2020 remain valid until 31 July 2021.
Decree-law no. 56/2021 has in fact provided for the extension to 31 July 2021 of the validity of residence permits expiring up to this date, as well as of the other titles to stay in Italy referred to in article 103, paragraphs 2-quater and 2-quinquies, of Decree-law no. 18 of 17 march 2020.
